Oregon National Primate Research Center scientists play a key role in training through graduate programs and postdoctoral opportunities.

Through academic appointments at OHSU, they also give lectures to medical students, medical residents and graduate students.

Since 1969 the center has provided summer apprenticeship opportunities for some 220 high school students, many of whom have gone on to careers in medicine and research.

In 1985 Center scientists inaugurated internships for high school teachers that are now funded by the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust's Partners in Science program. Since that time 35 teachers have enriched their teaching skills with hands-on experience on the frontiers of biomedical research.
